Plot: Before Man ever crawled the earth, bringing sinful disease and violence with him, there were only two primitive races. The first, were the Sefflia, the Lizard and Dragon Folk of the vast desert expanses of Trish-Klah, and the second, the clan of Elves, who ruled over the mountains and forests of Neova. The Sefflia were a divided peoples, constantly in civil war as the struggle between the winged Sefflia of Dragon origin, and the wingless Sefflia of Lizard origin reigned. Their race was easily dominant in fighting, though the minds of the Dragon Sefflia (or the Elites as they called themselves) were extremely sharp, and after the Great Division, the Elites began to dabble in magic as their Elven brothers were doing. Though they were an accomplished race by means of lore and mythology, they lacked the ability to reform, and any government they came up with soon died, along with the promise of a true culture. The Elves, on the other hand, were very different.
Almost the day the world was born and the first Elf raised his strong and beautiful face to the sky, the Elven race had been fascinated by their own progression. They became scholars, built magnificent cities, and wrote manuscripts and articles on sciences, history, and economics. They tamed wild beasts, invented technology for the betterment of life, and developed the bow and skills of archery for gaming trips as they hunted stag and unicorn alike. The hierarchy of the Elves even began to develop magic, and what masters of these tricks did they become. Envied for so long by the barbarous Sefflia, war finally broke out between the two races.
The Elves were slaughtered as waves of angered Dragon and Lizard Folk alike flooded over the Elven city gates, slicing open throats and biting the heads off of Elven young. The carnage lasted for only a few days before the hordes of Sefflia gathered the treasures of the Elves and moved along to the next town, overall, taking control of every Elven city but three. For 284 years, the Sefflia dominated the Elves, and it seemed the race forgot it’s own prejudices, as the winged and the wingless fought alongside each other.
But then the unthinkable happened.
The Lizard Folk, known as the Peasants, often kept watch over the Elven slaves, while the Dragon Folk tended to the skies. It was in one of these such slave pits, that an Elven maiden and a Peasant fell in love. Race mattered not to them, as the two lessers of the Elite, Dragon Sefflia, society found comfort in the fact that around them, as domination and control spread, they had each other. When the Elite found out about the pair, every Peasant and Elf within hundreds of miles, was slaughtered. The only two the Elite left alive, were the Maiden, and her lover.
Tears streamed down the Elf’s face as she watched the Sefflian Nobles hang her love, and as she watched his dying body twitch in it’s final moments, the true anger the Elves had never shown before burst fourth. Magic in gushes and waves throbbed out from the crying Elf’s body, and all that could see the blinding flash that emanated from her palms perished, their bodies falling softly to the ground around her. With everyone dead, the young Maiden walked to her lovers fallen body, and buried him were her home city had once been.
3,000 years later, that Maiden lives on as the Goddess Alastra, and in her agony, she created the world of Honoria to try and blast away the years of pain. The old races, and the new races, and between them all, the Goddess of Toil, who has perhaps not finished toying with fate…
